Angel Place Shopping Centre’s charity grotto is now open! And, an additional date to meet Santa has been introduced, so that even more people can have a magical time while helping two worthwhile charitable causes.

Santa Claus arrived in Bridgwater at the weekend to officially declare the start of the most wonderful time of the year. He will be meeting and greeting the town’s good boys and girls every weekend from 11am until 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and now on Monday 23 December too.

Entry to the grotto costs £2.50 per child and visitors will receive a gift and can have a (s)elfie with Santa and his helpers. All proceeds will be donated equally between Elliot’s Touch, a charity which raises awareness and funding into research for cardiomyopathy and mitochondria disease, and Marie Curie which provides essential care and support for individuals and their families experiencing cancer.

The fun festivities continue with a Christmas trail, where children and their families can hunt for hidden clues in retailer windows and, if the mystery word can be unscrambled, there are goodies to be won!

A spokesperson for Angel Place Shopping Centre, said,

“The charity grotto means a lot to Angel Place and the people of Bridgwater, as it’s an opportunity for us to show our gratitude to Elliot’s Touch and Marie Curie for the essential care and support they provide for many people from the local and surrounding areas who are experiencing challenging times.

“Christmas, for the majority of us, is a time of joy and celebration and meeting Santa offers wonderful memories that families share for a long time,” the spokesperson added. “He has happily agreed to stay an extra day before heading back to Lapland, so we’d like to encourage people to come and see him at Angel Place and to donate what they can to help the wonderful charities continue their amazing work.”
