Dave opened his doors 10 years ago in November 2008 and he has noticed a lot of changes throughout the years.
He told us,
“When we moved in to The Cornhill, there use to be a greengrocers in the middle, which would see lots of business coming to both of us, customers would come to me for their joints and to the greengrocer for their veg.”
He went on to say,
“All other butcher shops have closed, but I am still standing.”
Where it comes to Dave’s customers, he told us,
“I give the personal touch, elderly people will come in and buy just 2 sausages rather than a pack, which is what you get with the supermarkets.
“I give them a friendly face and a service witha smile.”
When asked what was his best seller, he smiled and said,
“My cooked ham.”
Dave cut us a couple of slices to try and we have to say, it was really tasty, plenty of flavour.
