The International Chair of Composition of the Black Dyke Band is held by the renowned Hollywood composer Bruce Broughton. His many credits include the films ‘Silverado’ and ‘Tombstone’ and numerous Disney films. His TV credits include ‘Hawaii Five-O’, ‘Quincy’ and ‘Dallas’ and in addition to receiving numerous Oscar nominations he has been awarded a dozen Tony Awards.
He has specially composed for the band ‘Heroes’, a spectacular fifteen minute depiction of the 1969 moon landing, and this will be performed for only the second time when the Black Dyke Band visit Bridgwater next Sunday the 18th August following the composition’s world premiere in Manchester last June.
