Macmillan Cancer Support’s Mobile Service Visiting Bridgwater

Free, cancer information and support is coming to Somerset from Monday 13th January to Friday 17th January. Macmillan Cancer Support’s mobile service will be visiting Bridgwater, Taunton, Chard, Crewkerne and Yeovil with cancer information specialists on hand to answer questions and provide information.

Taunton Road, Bridgwater, Evening Closure

Buses of Somerset have announced that from January 8th through to January 21st Taunton Road, Bridgwater will be closed between Broadway and Showground Roundabout. The closure will be in place every evening from 18:30 to 23:30. This is to allow resurfacing to take place.

Bridgwater & District Archaeological Society Christmas Meeting

The last meeting of the year for members of the Bridgwater & District Archaeological Society ended on a high note when Chris Webster, the Historic Environment Records Manager for the South West Heritage Trust, gave  members a glimpse into the past of Taunton Castle and grounds.  This was followed by a time for members to socialise over wine and an extensive buffet.
