Bridgwater Town Council are hosting International Friendship Week, 13th-19th July, when a week long exhibition will be launched in the Library of the towns 6 partner towns, a new ‘twinning finger post’ will be planted on Cornhill pointing the way to our international partners, and culminating in a twinning party at the Bridgwater Arts Centre on Friday 19th July featuring Italian rockers The Lorean’s.
The Art Centre event starts at 7.30 on Friday 19th july and features lively presentations with photos and movies from all 6 twin towns – La Ciotat in France, Homberg in Germany, Uherske Hradiste in the Czech Republic, Marsa in Malta, Priverno in Italy and Camacha on the Portuguese island of Madeira.
The Loreans play a brand of highly danceable surf rock music only their west coast influence is the historic town of Anzio, where British forces landed to fight the Fascists in World War 2.
Also playing at the Art Centre gig will be the Dave the Milkman Big Band-fresh from their tour of the Czech republic (a year ago)
