Those in charge of Somerset libraries are currently meeting to discuss when the best time would be to reopen.

In an email sent to library members, Sue Crowley (Strategic Manager) said,

“Whilst our libraries remain temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are now starting to consider how and when we can safely provide physical access to services for our customers.”

“There are no timescales yet for the reopening of library buildings, although current government guidance suggests reopening from July 4th.”

“Library services need to be adapted to pandemic conditions and we won’t, at least initially, be able to offer the full range of services we provided previously.”

“It is important to us that what we do provide is delivered safely and that it also accurately reflects the needs of the communities we serve. We are inviting you to share your views on the services that are most important to you, to help us to shape the service that we provide.”

You can let the library know your thoughts by completing this form.
