The play area located at Manse Lane in Puriton is set for improvements costing £26,950

The current play area is enjoyed by younger children and consists of a climbing frame, springer and toddler swings. Investment will commence next month where a basket swing, two flat swings, a junior climbing frame with slide and roundabout will be installed into new safety surfacing. Works are expected to begin week commencing Monday 4th November and last approximately two weeks, subject to favourable weather conditions.

Scott Mason, Parks Development Team Leader said,

“Basket swings are great for users of all ages and can hold multiple people at any one time, increasing the play value available. A flat swing is a traditional junior swing which always proves popular in any play area. The new climbing frame will have higher platforms than the existing one and be more challenging than the existing unit, which will remain. The elephant springer which has reached the end of its serviceable life will be replaced with a roundabout.

This project has been funded by developer contributions.
