Kevin Spacey hasn’t been having the best of times recently, and this doesn’t look as though it will be changing any time soon, if the results of the box office from his latest film are anything to go by.
Billionaire Boys Club, the last film he made before it all hit the fan and in which he is not even one of the main characters, was released on a limited 10 cinema run in the US on Friday, and the reports on takings show that the cinemas were far from being packed out.
The total made over all the cinemas was just £98, meaning that the average per cinema was just £9.80, which is not even enough for two tickets. With a budget of $15 million USD, you don’t have to be a mathematician to realise that this is quite a loss, possibly the biggest, percentage-wise, in Hollywood history.
While we have to remember that he has not been charged with any crime, in any country, it does look as though the public have made the decision that they no longer support him or his work.
if you want to watch the film, starring Ansel Elgort and Taron Egerton, Billionaire Boys Club is based on the true story of a group of rich, young men in 1980s LA, who started a club of the same name to run a ponzi scheme. It is available on VOD (view on demand) and Amazon Prime Video.
If you watch the film, why not submit a review to the website, and let everybody know what you think of it.
