Reintroduction of Car Parking Charges in Sedgemoor District Council Owned Car Parks

As from Monday, 15th June, car parking charges in SDC-owned car parks (see list below), will be re-introduced, after their suspension on April 1.  All SDC car parks operate a pay by phone option, should people not want to use the ticket machines. There will be an increased cleaning regime for ticket machines.

Bridgwater Lorry Drivers’ Epic Cycle Challenge

Colin Pitham and Colin Cooper, both lorry drivers at Bridgwater’s Nagel-Langdons swapped their LGVs for two wheels, in an epic challenge to cycle from Land’s End to Bridgwater. The novice cyclists are joined on their challenge by Colin Pitham’s son James and the threesome are attempting to cycle 200 miles after they set off on Sunday 8th September.

Sedgemoor Votes to Strongly Oppose Fire Station Closures

At the July meeting of Sedgemoor District Council an Emergency motion was unanimously supported rejecting the Fire Authorities closure plans and ‘strongly opposing any reduction of service in the district’.
