Carl Bovis is a bird lover and nature photographer from Westonzoyland. He was born in Kent and brought up on on his grandad's fruit farm near Tunbridge Wells. He taught him about the birds on the farm from an early age and once he received a pair of binoculars for Christmas, when he was five or six years old, a lifelong passion for birds was ignited.
The Filo Project is a not-for-profit organisation offering high quality day care for small groups of older people. They support individuals across Devon and Somerset who are socially isolated, many experiencing symptoms associated with moderate dementia.
Somerset Sight is the local independent charity for blind and visually impaired people in Somerset. Unfortunately, they don't currently have enough volunteers in the Bridgwater area to reach everyone who needs their help, so they are urgently seeking volunteers to offer companionship and practical support to people living with sight loss.
