Somerset Sight is the local independent charity for blind and visually impaired people in Somerset. Unfortunately, they don't currently have enough volunteers in the Bridgwater area to reach everyone who needs their help, so they are urgently seeking volunteers to offer companionship and practical support to people living with sight loss.
The story of how a Bridgwater cemetery's graves were condemned to be flattened, saved by local people and are now being restored by the Friends of Wembdon Cemetery was vividly told by Dr. Miles Kerr-Peterson at the October meeting of the Bridgwater & District Archaeological Society.
At 4.55am this morning, 2nd October, two fire engines from Bridgwater, two from Burnham on Sea and a heavy rescue tender from Taunton were all sent to a report of a road traffic accident that had gone across both carriageways.
