No one wants to see an empty property that could be used to give someone a home. Whilst Sedgemoor has a very low percentage of empty homes – just 309 from the 55,496 properties in Sedgemoor, Council staff are working hard to get properties back into use and are highlighting their work during Empty Homes Week September 23rd to 29th.
During August and September, residents across Sedgemoor would have received their annual canvass form asking them to check whether the information that appears on the electoral register is correct.

At 7.45pm this evening the fire service were called to reports of a fire at Junction 23 and 24, Southbound on the M5.
A closure order has been granted for a property in Bridgwater following residents’ concerns over the supply and use of illegal drugs.
Colin Pitham and Colin Cooper, both lorry drivers at Bridgwater’s Nagel-Langdons swapped their LGVs for two wheels, in an epic challenge to cycle from Land’s End to Bridgwater. The novice cyclists are joined on their challenge by Colin Pitham’s son James and the threesome are attempting to cycle 200 miles after they set off on Sunday 8th September.

In response to the results of a survey undertaken by Cognisant Research on behalf of Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset West and Taunton Council, companies based in Sedgemoor are being offered free help via a new service as part of the council’s business support activities.
