The Hub in Bridgwater was officially opened this afternoon by the Mayor of Bridgwater, Diogo Rodrigues.
The Hub was created after John Hardy, President of the Rotary e-Club in Bridgwater, was told by his mother, as a final wish, that she wanted something in Bridgwater that would help people, something involving nursing, which she had been involved in during her working life.
John Hardy took this on, and today was the culmination of a lot of hard work, all of which will help those of us in Bridgwater.
Both Sedgemoor District Council & Bridgwater Town Council were thanked for their contributions, and Cllr. Diogo Rodrigues told John Hardy during the opening, that the Town Council were there to support the project.
The Hub, which is on the top floor of the Angel Place Shopping Centre, is a meeting point of many local and national charities and organisations, providing a way to serve during times of need, especially working with those with diverse problems involving health and social care and to be an area to work, as well as a space for recreation.
The Bridgwater Magazine is working closely with The Hub, as we believe that this is an important addition to the town. We are providing them with their website, and will also be in The Hub at specified times, to be announced shortly, where you can come along and let us know your news, ideas for articles or even to discuss articles that you would like to write yourself.
